What are we up to?

We meet regularly on Saturday mornings at Bridge 8 Hub and Paddle Cafe at 10:30 am.

Occasionally we have 'Dragon Days Out' to Port Edgar Marina (South Queensferry) or Lochore Meadows Country Park.

We are also planning trips to Auchinstarry Marina on the Forth and Clyde Canal and possibly to Strathclyde Country Park!

Keep an eye on our Facebook page for dates and times.

Each year we honour the ancient Chinese tradition of dragon boat racing with an Eye Dotting and Dragon Blessing Ceremony. We invite priests  to the waters of the Forth to conduct this ancient and colourful ritual.

As you know, Emma Herman-Smith was a founding member of the Port Edgar Dragons who sadly passed away in October 2014.

A wet and wild paddle out on the Forth this afternoon.  As we paddled towards the break, the clouds set in and darkened overhead.  No fear in this dragon boat as we headed straight for the rain.  There was much laughing as the wake hit the boat and lolled us from side...

A big thanks to Alistair Davidson from EDINBURGH PT for writing us a very thorough warm up session.  You can now see us windmilling and boxing before each paddle to ensure those muscle groups are ready.  Nol excuses for slow racing starts now!!

An early morning paddle as the low tide was at 10am, but what a crisp October day we had.  Carla tried out being lead stroke and Sally doing a great job as helm!  It was good to see Pauline back out too.  A short trip out as we are holding our AGM today.  Lots to talk...
